The Sustainable Design China Summit is China’s dedicated summit for sustainable design and architecture, bringing together global pioneers to explore design solutions to climate change.
The Sustainable Design China Summit took place at the Beijing Exhibition Centre. Guided by the message that “sustainability is no longer a choice”, the summit called on the industry to move from ambition to action.
Across three days, the programme explored six themes: Designing a Sustainable Future, Circular Design Matters, On the Path to Net Zero, Towards a Greener Future, Holistic Hospitality and The Empathetic Workplace. Speakers included Mario Cucinella of Mario Cucinella Architects, Prof. Dr Wolfgang Feist, founder of the Passive House Institute, Prof. Zhu Dajian of Tongji University, and Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel of ACPV ARCHITECTS, alongside representatives from Foster + Partners, Hang Lung Properties, Swire Properties and IHG Hotels & Resorts. The exhibition featured Materials First, curated by Chris Lefteri with 100 materials; Near & Distant, a new media exhibition developed with the China Central Academy of Fine Arts; and the Finland Pavilion, with Audi as exclusive top-tier partner presenting the e-tron GT. The summit created a platform for design, architecture and business in China to tackle climate change together.
