Material Matters, London

Material Matters is a London Design Festival partner event and London’s dedicated fair for material innovation, spanning circular construction, biomaterials and natural alternatives to plastic. From 17 to 20 September 2025, during London Design Festival, we formed a strategic partnership with Material Matters to present a special showcase of Chinese materials, featuring signature works by twelve Chinese designers and material brands and presenting the forefront of Chinese material design from an international perspective.

The showcase was curated by renowned materials consultancy Chris Lefteri Design.  Participants included CYNICS, DECO·DECO, Lu+Architects, MOVED, PEELSPHERE, realize, Studio RE+N, Wang Chunmao, ZHUFU, Zié Object(s), Xu Yanhui and Huang Qianru Reartier. Spanning furniture, lighting, product design, ceramics and textiles, the works reflect Chinese design’s exploration of material research and craft innovation. The partnership marks a two-way exchange between China and the global design community: Chinese material design arrives in London.
